Privacy Policy

The application

Display Upscale collects nothing. It has no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry and no account system. It makes no network requests to us at any point, including during licence activation — activation is a local signature check against a key compiled into the app.

Your settings and your licence key are stored only on your Mac, under ~/Library/Application Support/dsp/. Deleting that folder removes everything the app has ever stored.

The application never reads screen contents. It reads display mode lists, panel identifiers (vendor, model and serial, used to remember your per-display settings) and, if you use the monitor controls, communicates with the monitor over the display cable.

This website

The site is statically generated and carries no advertising and no third-party tracking scripts. Our host records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention, retained for a short period.

If you visit /activate with a licence key in the URL, that page is marked no-index and the key is handled entirely in your browser — it is not sent to us.

Purchases

When you buy, our merchant of record processes the payment as seller of record. They receive your name, email, billing country and payment details, and they are the data controller for that transaction. We receive your email address, the product purchased and an order reference — enough to issue your licence and to answer a support email about it.

We keep that record for as long as needed to support the licence and to meet tax and accounting obligations.

Your rights and contact

Email support@dfacto.ai to access, correct or delete the data we hold, or to ask which merchant of record handled a given order. We reply within 2 business days.

Because the application stores nothing on our side, a deletion request concerns only the purchase record described above.
