Terms of Service
The agreement between you and dfacto.ai when you use Display Upscale or this site.
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Who you are contracting with
Display Upscale is published by dfacto.ai, operated by Deepak Marathe (sole proprietor), India ("we", "us"). You can reach a person at support@dfacto.ai.
Payments are processed by our merchant of record, who is the seller of record for your purchase, issues your invoice, and collects and remits any applicable tax. We never receive or store your card details.
What we provide
Display Upscale is software you download and run on your own Mac. It reads the display modes your hardware reports and sets them. It does not require an account, and it makes no network requests to us in normal operation.
The Free tier is provided at no cost and with no time limit. Paid tiers unlock the features listed on the pricing page and enforced by the application.
Licences and devices
A paid licence is issued to the email address used at purchase and may be activated on the number of devices stated for that tier (currently 3 for Pro and 10 per seat for Studio).
Licences are verified offline against a signature. This means your software keeps working if our site, our issuer or our payment provider is unavailable.
Subscription licences carry an expiry and are renewed automatically on each successful payment until you cancel. Perpetual (lifetime) licences do not expire.
Payment, renewal and cancellation
Prices are shown on the pricing page in USD, before any tax your jurisdiction applies. Your local currency and tax are shown at checkout.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds are governed by our Refund and Cancellation policy: 14 days, no questions asked.
Acceptable use
You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute licence keys, or circumvent the licence check. The Acceptable Use policy sets out the rest.
We may suspend a licence obtained fraudulently or through a chargeback, after contacting you at the purchase email.
Warranty and liability
The software is provided "as is". Display Upscale changes display modes that your hardware reports as supported; it cannot damage a display by selecting a mode the display advertises, and it refuses to write EDID overrides for panels already running at their native resolution.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the software is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory consumer rights.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the software after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Your mandatory local consumer protections still apply.
